More useless trivia......
10 different authors, including a co-authored book Bay of Martyrs.
7 of the 10 were new-to-me authors.......Ian Ayris, Paul Heatley, Sam Blake, Alis Hawkins, Matt Neal, Ryan Bracha and A. P. Bateman
3 authors have been enjoyed before....... Keith Nixon a few times, Tony Black and Roger A. Price once.
I still have unread books from 5 of these on the shelf, in the tubs or on the Kindle...Tony Black, Keith Nixon, Roger A. Price and Paul Heatley
Gender analysis - male reads, 2 female - 2 more than last month.
I think 8 authors are English, 1 from Wales and the co-authored book was by a couple of Australians, though I don't know if Tony Black considers himself an Aussie or a Scot - Aussie by birth, but grew up in Scotland.
All 13 were fiction reads - 11 novels and 2 novellas,
All were published this decade - 4 from this year, 4 from 2016, 1 - 2015, 1 - 2014 and 1 from 2013.
9 of the 13 books were pre-owned - 3 came via the publisher and 1 from the author,
Favourite cover? Bay of Martyrs - Tony Black and Matt Neal
Alis Hawkins and None So Blind is my second favourite.
My reads were this long - 271 - 162 - 394 - 304 - 299 - 176 - 208 - 46 - 58 - 167 - 218 - 234 - 360
Total page count = 2897 (3682 in April)
9 Kindle reads, 3 paperbacks, 1 PDF.
1 < 50,
1 between 51 < 100,
3 between 101 < 200,
5 between 201 < 300,
3 between 301 < 400,
0 > 400 pages
Sam Blake's Little Bones was the longest @ 394.
Glad you had so many great reads, Col. And you had quite a list, too. I can see why you liked Bay of Martyrs as well as you did; that is an excellent cover, I think.
ReplyDeleteMargot, thanks - June has been a bit slower, but there's plenty of time yet!
DeleteI have Bay of Martyrs on Kindle, along with East Jesus South, & many others (I also want the Call Centre book too), all waiting (as you correctly surmised previously) for the current gardening frenzy to subside. I'm so tired at the end of the day that I can only face the 'cosy' end of crime at the moment. I am however impressed with your reading rate of such high energy books!
ReplyDeleteI hope the allotment is flourishing and also that you enjoy your books when you get the chance to. My June reading has slowed down a bit now from last month.
DeleteI like the covers on Keith Nixon and Ian Ayris' novels. And those are some good reading numbers.
ReplyDeleteCheers Prashant.
DeleteYou haven't reviewed Bay of Martyrs yet? I'm interested in hearing more. That's a great cover...
ReplyDeleteThis coming week hopefully!
DeleteA lot of books in May and some longer ones. And lots of nice covers. Sounds like a good month.
ReplyDeleteTracy, Probably my most productive month for a while. June has been a lot slower!
