  1. Col, I have heard of Tom Piccirilli and his work in mystery, sf, and horror though I haven't read any of his novels or short stories. I'm definitely going to try and read "The November Man" by Bill Granger. I have a couple of John Gardner that await reading.

    1. Prashant, I have read one or two books from Piccirilli in the past, mostly in the pre-blogging days. He does write across genres. Gardner and Granger - I have yet to try.

  2. You certainly have a great selection there, Col. I hope you'll like the Deighton and the Hills. And I really like Garcia-Roza's work; I hope you will too.

    1. Great choice - you can't beat a bit of cold war espionage!

  4. I recognized quite a few good ones but you have Patricia Melo in your tub! She is great! I read Lost World several years ago and it was a good and fast read.

    1. Keishon, I'm 99% certain I got a couple of her books after reading a post on your blog......so thanks (I think!).... I probably thought yeah, looks good, not buying it though, no time, enough books already......and then went and bought :)

    1. I do like a bit of non-fiction and the subject interests me - fascinating really. Glad to hear there's a fun element to it. Marshall - I hope to start with book one, maybe next year.....I just found another 4 in tub 36!

    2. It might turn out you have all of them in your assorted tubs. There's a total of 16 Yellowthread Street mysteries.

    3. Glen from memory I think I exercised a little bit of restraint and stopped after buying number 12! I did see a new Parnell Hall - Stanley Hastings book on a reviewer website yesterday - A Fool for a Client - number 20 in the series out later this year. I think I only bought maybe the first couple of this one!

  6. I've read the Eva Dolan, Barbara Vine and Fletch. All really good. I've read a few Reginald Hill books- because he was born in Hartlepool!- but not that one. He's usually really good, though.

    1. Paul, as per usual you're ahead of me at least with Hill, Dolan and Vine. One of these years I'll read some of my older books!

  7. I am still being amazed by the number and range of your books - your collection is bigger than those mobile libraries. (Perhaps you could start lending out to your neighbours....?)

    1. Hmm, embarrassing isn't it - I kind of feel like I'm showing off now.

I think the only thing one of my neighbours will be getting from me is a punch in the face right now. They are baby-sitting a dog and have for about 4 of the past 5 days, put it out in the garden at about 4 o'clock in the morning and left the thing barking out there, for what seems like an hour if not longer. I'm sure they have woken up everyone in a 100yd radius.

  8. I like Moira's comment about the mobile library. Now I don't feel so bad about my piles of books (and tubs too).
