  1. Oh, Col, I really like some of those covers! And you've got some great reads there. Deighton, plus the Martin Beck series, too. And a Jim Thompson! I like the variety of books you have, too. As you get to them, I'll look forward to your reviews.

    1. Cheers Margot, hopefully we both live to be about 150 years old, so I can get around to reading and reviewing everything!

  2. Three really good books there: Enigma by Robert Harris (I also love the film), and Gone Baby Gone by Denis Lehane, and the Laura Lippman. You should keep those three near the top!

    1. 47 turkeys? Only joking, I don't think I have seen the film of ENIGMA, though I have the Lehane one. Not tried Laura Lippman yet, which is a shame.

  3. I agree about Enigma, the book, being really good. The movie was interesting, more so on a second viewing. Tracy thinks she remembers you saying you don't like Kate Winslet. She's in it.

    1. Glen, I'm going to have to try and get past that Winslet thing I think. I have enjoyed her in the odd-film previously, I just don't warm to her though.

    2. I can take or leave Kate Winslet but as Tracy knows all too well, I'll watch Emily Blunt in anything.

    3. I think my favourite film of hers was SUNSHINE CLEANING, I keep meaning to watch it again sometime. I would rather watch EB than KW anytime.

  4. Two Deightons, I am not sure if I have those or not. I have a lot of Deightons. Two Littells. I have those but I think you had a couple of Littell books in earlier boxes that I don't have.

    1. One of the Deightons is a standalone - about a couple of pilots in WWII, the other is part of his 6 or 7 book Harry Palmer series, which pre-dates the Bernard Samson one. I think I probably have all the Littells bar one...and not read one yet - ridiculous!

  5. Hm. A Dortmunder that I haven't come across. Must check it out . . .

    1. I just checked there are 14 novels on total and a collection of short stories. I don't have them all, but there's a few.

  6. Col, I'm delighted to see a Tom Sharpe in your tub. It reminds me that I should re-read at least one of his novels in my collection. I'm also tempted to read Flannery O'Connor's stories, especially since I have been reading about her work on some blogs and websites. I like the European flavour among this lot.

    1. I have had the Flannery collection for a few years, just have never gotten around to reading it.
