Ah, the best-laid plans... Still, you got some good 'uns there, Col. I hope you'l like the Connelly (I admit to bias there) and of course the Hill. I see you've a Rendell as well. Yes, quite a nice variety!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I will acquire some resolve come autumn-time! Haha...or maybe not.
DeleteI'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into Rendell and Hill. Connelly has been enjoyed for many a year!
Some interesting books here, Col. I do have Who Guards the Prince but haven't read it yet.
ReplyDeleteTracy, I hadn't heard of this Hill book before I spotted this copy - it does look quite interesting. I expect you will read yours before I read mine!
DeleteCol, it looks to me as if I you went out with a list of books to buy! I have not read Connelly yet and am sort of familiar with Ace Varkey.
ReplyDeleteNot true Prashant! Though I was pleased to find the Connelly especially. I think Ace contacted you also.
DeleteI don't think so, Col. I don't have anything on record. I have read some good reviews of the book.
DeleteHmm.... I thought he or she left a comment on one of your posts as they couldn't find your e-mail address. Maybe not.
DeleteCol, I ought to kick myself. You're right, Ace Varkey did comment on one of my review posts and I even responded. How's that for memory! Thanks for letting me know.
DeleteNo problem
DeleteHm. So the embargo, taken all in all, was not perhaps a wholehearted success . . .
ReplyDeleteI picked up an ARC of the Eskens a few months ago from Seventh Street and it's waiting on the pile to be read soonish. I've just finished another of theirs, picked up at the same time, and plan to be writing about it later today: Lynne Raimondo's Dante's Wood, which I enjoyed quite a lot.
Yes - a half-hearted attempted at best. August the floodgates have opened.
DeleteI'm on Seventh Street's mailing list - so every so often a couple of tasty books turn up! I think I have Raimondo's book somewhere, unread of course. I might have to move it up the pile after seeing what you think.

ReplyDeleteLucky you!
