  1. Col, I'm taking a backseat—too many new and unread authors this time. I want to read Joseph Koenig as well as the Stephen Fry book, which I think should be humourous. Tom Sharpe is one of my favourite satirical writers and I'm building a small collection of his books. I recently acquired a brand new edition of ANCESTRAL VICES for a pittance at Books by Weight exhibition.

    1. No problem....I will try and read them for you one day! I think Stephen Fry is a very clever man, without being arrogant or pompous.

  2. Hillerman, Jardine, and I saw those McDermids in there! Yes, I'd say this tub's a good 'un, Col. Interesting you'd mention a cover that gives no information about a book I think that's worth a blog post in itself...

    1. Margot thanks. I do think the Bruen-Coleman cover is unusual insofar as there isn't even a single hint as to what the book maybe about. I'm looking forward to a lot of these!

  3. Not much for me there really, though am going to look up Joseph Koenig. I like the book with the picture of the gasworks brooding on the cover - that tells you where you are, you don't get that with a Mitford book!

    1. Not heard mention of that tribe for a while over on CiB, I was beginning to think you might have been cured of that particular affliction.....apparently not.
Koenig is worth a look in my opinion.

  4. Lots of interesting books there. I will wait until I see what you think of them. I have read a few of John Harvey's books and have more in the stacks.

    1. Harvey's series is one of the many I intend to read my way through, though when exactly I don't know. I have stopped adding his latest ones to the stacks though!
