I kind of expected to watch a lot of films in the month but that didn't really happen. Can I count a film, if I have watched the first 20 minutes, before dozing off and waking up just prior to the finale and the closing credits? Hmm.....thought not.
In no particular order,
It's A Wonderful Life............I may have seen bits of this previously, but it was an absolute joy. I do like a bit of Jimmy Stewart!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince........second time around, but hey I'm a family guy!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.......ditto above.
The Inbetweeners......... rude, crude and hysterically funny, another re-watch and I guess you wouldn't buy your granny the DVD but it tickled me pink, again.
Single Santa Seeks Mrs Claus...... a certain inevitability about eventually getting snared by a feel-good, Christmas tale. I tried but I just couldn't continue to avoid the back to back festive movie marathon playing in our house.
The Muppet Christmas Carol.......I wouldn't say this is my favourite Michael Caine film, I'd much rather have watched Harry Brown, but the Keane household is a democracy and I was out-voted!
Finding Nemo.......yawn, a few more films like this and I'd be glad about going back to work. Not my cup of tea at all.
Oh the Muppets Christmas Carol - I LOVED that as a kid and haven't seen it in yolks... and now I suppose I have to wait until next year!

Claire, thanks for stopping by. I think I have seen the Muppet movie maybe one time too many now......Christmas over-load! Off now to check your blog out.
DeleteCol, while I must see "It's A Wonderful Life" again, I have seen "Finding Nemo" twice, and the entire Harry Potter series multiple times though I liked the first three the best for after "The Prisoner of Azkaban" Harry and his friends lose their innocence. Barring book seven I've read all of them.
ReplyDeleteI protest a bit too much about Harry Potter, they are very watchable and I can read and look up when there's some action. I loved Snape - he was my favourite character. My son read them all and whilst I was tempted I never got around to it.
DeleteCol, I think, Snape is everyone's favourite character. I found him hilarious too. I also preferred the more kindly looking late Richard Harris as Dumbledore instead of the rather stern looking Michael Gambon, a fine actor in his own right. And then, of course, there's the indefatigable Dame Maggie Smith.
DeleteI think anyone who's anyone from the British acting establishment has passed through and appeared in anything from 1 to 7 total. Dame Maggie is great. TBH - I haven't really spotted the difference between the Dumbledore's.
DeleteCol - 'Tis the season! I'm glad you got the chance to see some good 'uns. And I am a big Maggie Smith fan. Such talent!!
ReplyDeleteMargot, I'm trying to remain jolly, but it's difficult as I'm back at work! I need another holiday!
DeleteWide-ranging selection there. I watched The Heat over Xmas (it was a present) cop buddy comedy, with 2 women detectives, sandra bullock and melissa mccarthy. It was absolutely hilarious, AND a good action movie, it made for a great family movie evening, all ages and both genders enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of THE HEAT, I immediately thought of HEAT instead. Looked it up and it sounds good. I'm not a big Bullock fan, even though we just watched MISS CONGEALITY 2 Sunday afternoon. I do love Melissa McCarthy though....she's hilarious in BRIDESMAIDS and we also just started watching IDENTITY THEFT this weekend also.
DeleteLots of variety here but not a lot I want to watch. I have read all of the Harry Potter books except the last one, and haven't seen the movies for that one either. We will do that sometime, as we have seen all the rest of them. I saw a photo from the first movie recently, and those kids were really young then.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny looking back at them then and having seen them grow up through the films.
