  1. You've got some good 'uns there, Col. Can't beat a bit of Nameless, and I see you have some Stan Jones, too. I like his series very much. You've reminded me, too, that I want to put a Henry Chang novel in the spotlight at some point. His detective Yu stories are well-written, I think.

    1. Margot, I'm looking forward to both Chang and Jones when I eventually get there! Sometime in the next 10 years probably...

  2. Col, that first Bill Pronzini cover is really something. It doesn't look like a 2012 publication; more like 60s or 70s.

    1. It definitely has a Pulp look to it, Prashant.

  3. I'll be interested to hear what you think of the Duhrenmatts, once you get to them. I enjoyed them really quite a lot.

I like the look of the Ammaniti and the Jones. I must see if they're in the library when I'm in there later today.

    1. I'm sure I only buy books to hoard rather than read. All 3 authors mentioned I haven't yet gotten to.

I'm probably most interested in Jones and the Alaskan setting, as I've only ever read Call of the Wild from the region.

  4. Some interesting books there. I want to read more of Henry Chang, and I have WHITE SKY, BLACK ICE by Stan Jones. I have read a couple of books by Robert Wilson, two very different books. But not any from the series that THE HIDDEN ASSASSIN is in.

    1. Chang or Jones are two (of many) I haven't read anything by yet. The Wilson books aren't singing out to me, still if I ever need a doorstop.

  5. Of these I think the ones I would be interested, I have already read! So this particular set doesn't tempt me, I'm not off looking them up on amazon....
