GLENN McGOLDRICK - YELLOW FEET (2021)

Synopsis/blurb ....

As I passed the White Water Centre I saw a fat man on a skateboard, being pulled along by a Siberian Husky. It looked like he was having fun; maybe he thought of it as exercise.

In this chapter of the Dark Teesside series of short stories with a twist, the events unfold in Thornaby and Stockton...

Brought to you by award winning author Glenn McGoldrick, creator of the Dark Teesside series.

I've enjoyed a few of Glenn McGoldrick's short stories in the past .... Roseberry ToppingDead FliesRed MarksBreaking Spirits. Yellow Feet is his latest offering.

I think I enjoy them because they offer me a quieter, reflective interlude to my normal reading.... a bit of a pause and reset before I go careering off again in the company of violent criminals and vindictive cops. McGoldrick's stories usually feature a protagonist at some crossroads in their life.

Yellow Feet .... a man, divorce, therapy, meeting his daughter, birds, observing nature, distraction.

It's not very long, but it's quite moody and thoughtful. You feel for the main character who is clearly doing the best he can. All that all of us can do really....

  1. Sometimes those quieter, more thoughtful stories make a nice change from the usual fare, Col. They help us contemplate, and I think that can help us all.
