Robin Cook aka Derek Raymond, Penguin edition published 1969, copyright 1966.

A bit of a scarcity, is it a crime novel? Probably not, based on the back cover. Can't find too much about it on the internet - scrub that - anything really.

  1. Oh, you have some good 'uns, there. Ryan, McIlvanney, Macdonald and Block, among others. You're in for some very good reading, in my opinion.

    1. I might have to wait for my retirement to speed up on my reading. Unfortunately it's a long way off. Some of these will have to wait :-(

  2. Some I've read, some I know of, plenty I'll be interested in hearing about when you get round to them...

  3. So many familiar names, wonderful authors, don't know where to start. I think I'll settle for Martin Amis, Col. I haven't enough of his books.

    1. Prashant, I'd probably have him closer to the bottom of the pile than the top. The last couple I've read from him haven't been fantastic.

  4. Col, tell me about the Robin Cook. I am a fan of Derek Raymond, having read all but one of his over the years.

    1. Glen, your wish is my command! Not too much detail to be found on the net about it. A few more photos and the back page and inside first page of text as well as an in focus cover. Hard to find - not too many copies about. Cheapest in the UK, about £20.

  5. I have Le Crime, but the title of my copy is A French Country Murder. Haven't read it, of course. How many of his books do you have?

I liked the film Big Fish also.

    1. Tracy, I have 4 Steiner's which is all of them, but I just looked him up and there's a fifth out in February! I'm not buying it though until I've read these (and some of the others).

Glad to find a fellow Big Fish fan! Yay!
