Col, I was beginning to despair when I didn't find any authors I had read in your Tub 8 and then I saw John Ball and Loren D. Estleman, two very fine writers. A lot of the other books look interesting and, I agree, there is variety in this tub.
ReplyDeleteEstelman has written a lot of westerns, I believe, but I'm sticking with a series of 5 books about a hitman. This is one of the series.
DeleteI really enjoyed John Ball's first Virgil Tibbs novel - so I'm looking forward to reading more.
You've a lot of great ones there! Robinson, Temple, Disher, Garcia-Roza, Maitland, all of them are terrific I think. I really like your idea of going through all of your books like that so you know exactly what you have.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margot - I think I have you to blame/thank (delete as applicable) for the heads-up on Garcia-Roza.
DeleteI'm looking forward to all of these.........someday. I am enjoying the logging (mostly) though it is biting into my reading time a bit......it will be worth it in the end though, I think.
I was just about to say 'I recognize that one!' when I realized I was being credited/blamed. Presumably this is completely random, but I recognize or have read more in this one than in the last couple of tubs put together. I could sit with my cup of coffee happily with this one!
ReplyDeleteStill not too much female representation, but it is what it is. When will I get to Barry Maitland I wonder.
DeleteYou should definitely start reading from this box. Some books here I want to see reviews of.
ReplyDeleteTub 8 - shoots to the top of the pile when I'm caught up on my obligations and challenges!
