Col, a thousand books — to me that's mindboggling considering that my own collection has fewer than a hundred paper books. I love the Graham Greene book cover and have been wanting to read this particular title. More room to your books!
ReplyDeleteI think 1000, 2000, or probably 4000 is a bit mad, but when I put it into the context of loving books and being a big reader most of my adult life and the fact that I have only really started reading and disposing of in the past few years (I was always a keeper) I'm not beating myself up over it.
DeleteCol - You really do have a large collection! I love it that you've got so much Lawrence Block, actually. And Hiassen and Grisham too! I really need to start digging in and putting my own books in better order like that...

Block, Hiaasen and Grisham - three favourite authors among many! I just need a time machine to expand my available reading hours!

DeleteThere's a book in there that I hated, threw-across-the-room hated, one of the Jon McGregor ones, If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things. Awful. And my mind is boggled by the sheer numbers you have. You should start a bookshop! And, I fully intended to send you that Scottish book, but obviously failed, when it turns up I will wing it your way.

DeleteNice to hit a big number! I think I wanted to read a book by Bateman set in a bookshop - very vague memories of adding it to a list and obviously forgetting totally about it. When I google to see what it was called (Mystery Man), I see that Bateman is now known "mononymously" as 'Bateman' (Wikipedia), so I've learned a new word as well as being reminded of a book.

DeleteI can't believe I am this far behind in your Logging the Library posts. I can't believe you have this many books. I enjoyed The Light of Day by Ambler. There are other authors here that we have in common, but you have different books, so I look forward to your reviews.
