I have most of the Archer's but not all. Hopefully I really enjoy them as I progress through the series. I knew he was married to Margaret Millar. She's another author I want to read more from.col2910https://www.blogger.com/profile/06422138069939709043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-61722182217191955212020-07-17T23:15:38.377-07:002020-07-17T23:15:38.377-07:00Michael, Margot is back and blogging! Not too many set around where I live that I've managed to cross paths with. It's a well regarded series and I'm keen to read more.col2910https://www.blogger.com/profile/06422138069939709043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-20737643740830564632020-07-14T10:53:07.473-07:002020-07-14T10:53:07.473-07:00I have a goal to read all of the Lew Archer books ...I have a goal to read all of the Lew Archer books by Ross Macdonald. I started with The Ivory Grin (book 4) then went back to this one and The Drowning Pool. Sometime this summer I will read book 3, The Way Some People Die. It will be interesting to compare them to Raymond Chandler's books.TracyKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08303342674824383688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-48034063296080326442020-07-13T12:24:49.492-07:002020-07-13T12:24:49.492-07:00Oops, that should be "Dinger, P.I.", not...Oops, that should be "Dinger, P.I.", not "D.I." ;-)emhelms63@yahoo.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05464248763437977013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-84756550838491275162020-07-13T12:23:19.794-07:002020-07-13T12:23:19.794-07:00Hey there, Margot! Taking some time to rest and reflect. Still hoping to get Mac McClellan back on another case soon (he's currently working on one, but I've left him hanging for now). Also hoping to get Dinger, D.I. in print. We shall see. I've read all his books; also own all the Lew Archer series, and some (maybe all?) his pre-Archer works. His wife, Margaret Millar, was also a successful novelist. She actually gained success before her husband (real name: Kenneth Millar). A trivia note: Macdonald named Lew Archer after Sam Spade's partner, Archer. Thanks for covering Ross Macdonald! --Michael emhelms63@yahoo.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05464248763437977013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-36154562843170588952020-07-13T04:24:05.609-07:002020-07-13T04:24:05.609-07:00I always liked the Lew Archer character, Col. They don't draw everyone in, but I've always thought this was a fine PI series. Margot Kinberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08599589137890528065noreply@blogger.com
