I think I've got plenty I can enjoy from the TBR pile without bothering with Mr Miller again.col2910https://www.blogger.com/profile/06422138069939709043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-81321718465761240062021-07-26T03:19:08.561-07:002021-07-26T03:19:08.561-07:00I agree. Never heard of this author before so thanks for sharing. 🙂Denzcat76https://www.blogger.com/profile/07332199089653204247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-18163830791614897722021-07-25T23:35:17.647-07:002021-07-25T23:35:17.647-07:00Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I do think the author can write (despite his personal deficiencies), but despite not being especially squeamish I think he could dial back a bit on the descriptions. Less would be more in my opinion. col2910https://www.blogger.com/profile/06422138069939709043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-70771158610025890732021-07-25T15:09:38.817-07:002021-07-25T15:09:38.817-07:00After seeing this post, I bought a different book ...After seeing this post, I bought a different book by the same author. The Country Club. I actually thought it was ok until a particular disgusting scene! (I can't deal with horror involving children or animals).
I have seen the Hostel films so I was intrigued to read a book with a similar storyline.
It was a decent storyline though.
I skipped those particularly horrific pages but thought the rest was ok.

P.S. I am a middle aged mother of 2 and primary school teacher.
Denzcat76https://www.blogger.com/profile/07332199089653204247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-49329547515556660192021-07-22T22:22:22.948-07:002021-07-22T22:22:22.948-07:00Margot, thanks for your thoughts on this one.Margot, thanks for your thoughts on this one.col2910https://www.blogger.com/profile/06422138069939709043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2109031751968258131.post-43291114416734669902021-07-22T08:02:05.402-07:002021-07-22T08:02:05.402-07:00I couldn't agree with you more, Col. The same thing (in my opinion) goes for posting. You are free to post exactly what you want to post. As for this book, it's most definitely not my thing. I think I'm going to give this a definite miss, as I don't like graphic scenes, torture, etc.. But that doesn't mean I don't think it should be out there for those who want to read it.Margot Kinberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08599589137890528065noreply@blogger.com
